One of the things that I love about Evernote, besides the fact I can now remember everything, is the fact that it is so easy to get things into Evernote. Over the next few weeks I am going to write about the ways that i get information into evernote and some other helpful tips

One of the basic ways to information into evernote is to use your evernote email address. Every Evernote account comes with an email address. You can find your email address by clicking on Tools->Account Info in the desktop client. Everything that is sent to this email address becomes a note in your default notebook in evernote. If you send a picture and text both of those things will be in the note. If you email an audio file that will become a note.

This is all well and good but what if you dont want the newly created note from the email to go to the default notebook. Or what if you wanted to assign some tags to it so that you know you need to act on it. You can do that.

If you want to assign the email that you are sending to create a note in another notebook besides your default notebook, in the subject line of your email Include the @notebook. So lets say you wanted to send your email to the notebook called blog you can. Just send it like this

SUBJECT: This is the title @blog

BODY: what ever you want in the note.

Now if you want to add tags to the note you are creating you can do so by just adding #tagname. So again an example. We also want to tag our above example with the tag ideas. It would look like the following

SUBJECT: This is the title @blog #ideas

BODY: what ever you want in the note.

One thing to note. The notebook and tags that you assign via the subject line must already exist in your evernote account. You can not create new tags or notebooks via email.

So in the real world how would we use this. Lets say you get an receipt from your cable company every month for a bill you autopay. It would be nice to be able to automatically save that receipt and get it out of your email box. Now you can, set up a filter so that way when ever an email from your cable provider comes to your box you autoforward it to your email address and then it will sent to your evernote account. You could go as far as auto deleting it from your inbox if you wanted to. If you wanted to get real fancy you could use a service like boxcar so send a push notification to your iphone when that came in to your email!

One of the main reasons that I started this site is a created a webinar for geocachers to learn how to use the program Geocaching Swiss Army Knife, I recorded the webinar and wanted to sell it. So I set out with the idea to create a site where i could sell some digital products.

So I went on a search to find either a plug-in or some sort of option to allow me to sell my digital products. I saw e-junkie and some other things that looked good, however e-junkie wanted me to pay at minimum $5 a month to sell things. That is not bad but I didn’t know where this was going. I didn’t know if anyone would buy my products and i didn’t know if i would get many to buy at first then be with out an income from it for several months so I didn’t want to have to pay monthly.

I found a premium plug-in for wordpress that I bought and loved. The plugin is called WP eStore. Sure I had to put down some money up front but boy am i glad that I did.

WP eStore makes it super simple to set up a store to sell digital content. I have looked at other e-store plugins before and they were hard to use but not WP eStore. It was a breeze to set up. I not only bought this plugin from the company but a few others that go nicely with it. I also bought their WP Affiliate Platform plug-in which allows me to have affiliates who are willing to help me sell my products and pay them for it too. The plugin keeps track of it all. Another plugin they have that works well with the store is WP PDF Stamper which allows me to stamp e-books that I sell with the buyers name and address and email address to discourage sharing.

Now I know that there are other free e-store options and plugin’s out there, so why did I opt to buy one? The reason is quite simple. Their customer service is amazing. So much so I will say it again. Their customer service is AMAZING. As with any third party plugins issues come up. WordPress the software for the website back end software gets updated and they change something, and sometimes it breaks plugins. Or maybe there just isn’t a feature that you wish it had. The company that creates this plug in has been more than responsive. When I had an issue with one of the plugins i just put an entry in the forums and the company developers got right back to me. My problem was solved with in one day. and if they cant walk you through something on a forum post they are more than willing to look at the back end of the website and see if they can see what is wrong. AMAZING. Your free plug-ins you may have to wait days, months, years for a solution. When your making your money with your website you simply can not have that.

If you are thinking about selling a product on your site i would recommend using WordPress eStore. If you want to check out what it looks like just check out my products page

I had been searching for a way for a long time to get wordpress multisite to work with subdomains while working with Host Monster

I finally figured out how to go about doing it. What you need to do is first make sure that your wordpress is set up to do multisite. you do this by adding the following line in your wp-config.php

define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);

Next for a host monster account you will want to go to your cpanel and go to the domains section and choose sub domains

Next you want to add a sub domain. Place a Astrix in subdomain and then for document root delete wildcard and just leave it blank.

by adding the code in your wp-config.php file this will now allow you to set up multisite. Next you need to visit Administration > Tools > Network Setup. This will allow you to set it up. You are given the choice Sub-domains or Sub-Directories. Since this tutorial is about sub-domains. you will want to choose sub domains. then finish by adding the code generated in your config file and .htaccess and also creating the blog directory.

Now you have a multisite wordpress setup working with subdomains on a Host Monster account. The instructions here will also work on bluehost.

The reason that i first went with Host Monster was the fact that i could have unlimited domains with my Host Monster account.

What this means is that i can host this site and all of my other podcast sites under one hosting account with Host Monster. Other hosting sites make you buy a hosting account for every site you want to host.

Since hosting with Host Monster I have found many other benefits of hosting with Host Monster.

It is cheap – only $6.95 a month

When you sign up you get a free domain name. If you go somewhere else and get just the name it will cost you at least $7.00

Unlimited email accounts. other hosting companies make you pay for email addresses

Unlimited hosting space

Unlimited bandwidth

And best of all they have a one click install of wordpress. If you know anything about the way i do my websites. I couldn’t live with out wordpress and they have a simple easy one click install. no messing around uploading with the FTP client. one click and you have a wordpress website.

I have been using Host Monster for almost a year to host. I moved from that other company to Host Monster because of the things mentioned above and have not had any issues.

If your looking for cheap, fast, great hosting you owe it to your self to check out Host Monster
